Teach children to read the phase 2 high frequency words with this fun pack! 
 
Children should say the sounds as they drive their toy car past the trees and then blend them together to read the word.
 
Road mats with the following words are provided (one word per mat)
 
•Set 1: a, at, as
 
•Set 2: is, it, an, in, dad, and
 
•Set 3: got, on, not, can
 
•Set 4: get, up, mum
 
•Set 5: had, him, his, but, big, back, of, if, off
 
•Tricky Words: I, no, go, to, into, the
 
Each word is also written on a car flashcard (colour copy and B&W copy).  These could be used for assessment purposes, a display or children could match them to the correct road mats.  Ideally, the mats should be printed out on card and laminated for longevity.
